Terminalia chebula (Family: Combretaceae) is an ornamental tree with 250 species that grows in the Middle East and tropical regions. Chebula is is used for kidney and liver dysfunctions. The dried fruit is also used in Ayurveda as a purported antitussive, cardiotonic, homeostatic, diuretic, and laxative.
